TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

Please reach out to hello@pitviperbaseball.com if you have any additional questions.

TOC is a tournament that features 23 Minors teams from across the City, including teams from Wilshire Riverside, Parkside, North Portland, and of course, Hollywood Rose City. The tournament traditionally begins on the Tuesday after Memorial Day weekend, and runs through the beginning of June.

This year's TOC dates are May 27 - June 6.

Nope. We'll play at least two games within that time period, and potentially (likely) four games.

We usually receive the TOC schedule mid-week before Memorial Day.

The leagues meet to rank all of the Majors teams based on their 2026 season records.

Teams are then matched for their first games in what are known as "pods." So let's say there are six pods with four teams each, with one pod only having three teams. It would look something like this:

Pod A

Team #1 (Record 10-1)

Team #2 (Record 6-5)

Team #3 (Record 4-6)

Team #4 (Record 2-8)

Team #1 would play Team #4 and also Team #3. Team #2 would play Team #3 and also Team #4. Teams move on to the "winner" bracket based on record. So if Team #1 wins both of their games, but Team #4 loses both, Team #1 will likely move on and Team #4 will be out of the tournament. In the case of ties, runs allowed and runs scored are involved in the tiebreaker decision.

After that, there are semi-final games and a final game.

Not yet, as we're just starting the season. We'll update this as the season progresses.

The final TOC game will be played on June 6, 2025 at Erv Lind (or another league's home field if they make it to top 2. So that would be Arbor Lodge for NPLL, Parkrose for Parkside, or James Combs for Wilshire).

The Majors game is typically the final game of the day (sometime in the afternoon).

Depending on the intensity of our schedule, we'll balance our roster accordingly. TOC is more competitive than the regular season, so bench time may feel slightly different than it did the past several weeks. That said - we will make every effort to involve each player in a significant way throughout the tournament.

Depends on the umpire. ;-)

But yes, generally speaking, the rules are the same as what you'd expect during our regular season games.
