Why do we play?
We play to learn about ourselves, the world, what we can do, and what we have yet to do.
The greatest gift we can give one another is the chance to play.
Play dies as we accept the responsibilities of the world: homework, housework, schoolwork, yard work.
Work implies blood, sweat, tears.
Play implies life, breath, laughter.
You don’t “work” baseball. You play baseball.
Baseball, done right, builds character, creativity, resilience, and sentimentality.
It's the heart of collaboration, of feeling like you belong to something.
It’s the sound of the bat, the cheer of the crowd, the silence of a pitch.
It’s a game anyone can play.
You just have to show up.
Focus your eyes on the world in front of you, and engage.
Accept that you’re not the center of the universe, but also not forgotten.
You are a part of something.
Why do we play?
Because it lifts our spirits. It gives us confidence.
It makes us laugh. It makes us hope. It makes us give our all.
It makes us feel alive.
There is plenty of time in this life to work.
Come play with us.
