One of the hardest parts about coaching Little League is saying goodbye. The Pit Viper team is a family. We live, love, and laugh together, and then we accept that we can't hold on too tightly. We're so proud of the kids that have played for us over the past two years.
When William (or "Liam" as some of us know him) joins your team, you get a kid with energy and dedication. William wants to play, wants to move, and wants to learn. We're sad to hand him off to Team Hardaway, but we'll be cheering for William (and reading his sister Addie's future graphic novels. You heard it here first!)
There is no one quite like King Felix. He puts in the time, in and off-season, always smiling (and often sporting bling). Felix was such a popular pick in this season’s draft that we had no shot of bringing him back. (But that doesn’t mean we won’t be knocking on his door in the future....)
Abram joined our team disappointed. He was drafted from a team he loved, a great group of guys who lead a solid team. He also arrived with a strong bat and a wickedly quick arm. Over the season, Abram opened up, showing us his warm and hilarious personality. By the end of the season, he was a leader and friend to all on the team.
We look forward to watching Abram continue his Little League career on Team Woodlee in the HRCLL Majors.
Before the Pit Vipers existed, Theo showed up to his first Farm A practice in a robe. That tells you all you need to know. Theo brings a wit, drive, and athleticism to the sport that will take him far in life. During the 2024 championship tournament, he worked alongside Coach Sloane to create lineups and share strategies. He's also $200 richer for hitting two Grand Slams. Never challenge a Karlsgodt!
Theo joined Team Bernstein this Spring in the HRCLL Majors.
Don't let that silence fool you; Damon is dialed in. A master of more than three sports, Damon grew as a pitcher and catcher throughout the season. Having known Damon since Farm A, it's no surprise that he puts an intense effort into whatever he does. The big question is, which sport will ultimately get to keep him?
Damon is playing with Team Gaffney for the Spring 2025 season, HRCLL Majors.
We only had these players for a minute, but they left a lasting impression.
Nolan's pure athleticism and self-assurance are an asset to any team. Nolan has recently become what we all want our players to be: the type of guy who knows how to make adjustments. His determination to become a stronger player in whatever he does will serve him long past Little League. Like many former players, Nolan will join Team Eltagonde this spring.
Quick and nimble, Cameron is a jackrabbit.. He may seem stoic, but don't let that fool you, there's a sense of destiny with this one. This season, he's opted out of baseball because basketball and football are calling his name.
Keep an eye out for his brother Casey, who is currently playing his first season of Farm AA.
We had the pleasure of being Maceo's first baseball season and team. Maceo is a natural learner, smart from the jump, and always ready to take adjustments. With future aspirations to be a shortstop and pitcher, we only expect good things as he heads to Team Irvine this spring.
We had the joy of spending a season with Sterling and getting to know this one-of-a-kind kid. You think he's the kid who smiles his way through everything, and then he blocks a play at third like a warrior ready for battle. Sterling is early in his baseball journey, but we know we'll love watching him grow over the upcoming seasons as he takes the field with Team Hardaway.
Feisty, strong, and willing to try anything, Theo reminded us of the passion and fire this game brings to our lives. We never had a chance to make him a full-fledged Pit Viper, as his dad is an excellent coach.. But we'll be sure to drop by and visit Theo as he battles like a boss for Team Hardaway. (And go Dodgers!)
For the first week of practice, Ky barely said a word. He watched, studied, and took in everything in his surroundings. Our goal was to make him laugh. By week two, he was tearing up the field and owning every position he played. His speed and acceleration in the sport are an inspiration to watch. He'll also be joining Team Hardaway this spring for obvious reasons.
